Terms and Conditions
African Macaw DMC and Safaris – Cape Town
These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between African Macaw DMC and Safaris (“the Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) and the client (“you,” “your,” or “the traveler”) booking or participating in our tours and related services in Cape Town, South Africa. By booking with us, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Bookings and Payments
A booking is confirmed once a deposit (typically 30-50%) has been received and acknowledged by African Macaw DMC and Safaris.
The balance is payable no later than 30 days prior to the tour start date. For last-minute bookings made within 30 days of departure, full payment is required at booking.
Payments may be made via bank transfer or other mutually agreed methods.
2. Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellations must be made in writing.
Refunds are subject to the following cancellation fees:
- More than 30 days before departure: 25% cancellation fee
- 15 to 30 days before departure: 50% cancellation fee
- Less than 15 days before departure: 100% cancellation fee
No refunds are provided for unused services, early departures, or no-shows.
3. Tour Prices
All prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) unless otherwise stated. Prices are subject to change without prior notice due to currency fluctuations, government taxes, or park fee increases.
Prices include only the services specified in the itinerary.
4. Changes and Amendments
The Company reserves the right to adjust itineraries, transportation, accommodation, or services due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather, availability, or safety concerns.
In such cases, we will provide the closest comparable alternatives and notify you as soon as possible.
5. Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended and is the client’s responsibility. Insurance should cover medical emergencies, cancellations, personal liability, and loss of luggage.
6. Health and Safety
Clients must ensure they are medically fit to travel and participate in activities. Please inform us in advance of any medical conditions, dietary restrictions, or special requirements.
7. Liability
African Macaw DMC and Safaris acts as an agent for third-party service providers (e.g., accommodation, airlines, activity providers) and is not liable for loss, damage, injury, or death arising from these third parties.
We take reasonable care to ensure safety, but travel in Africa involves inherent risks, and clients participate at their own risk.
8. Passports, Visas, and Documentation
Clients are responsible for obtaining valid passports, visas, permits, and vaccinations required for travel to and within South Africa.
9. Children and Group Travel
Children under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Some tours may have age restrictions.
Group bookings are welcome; custom terms may apply depending on group size and requirements.
10. Code of Conduct
Clients are expected to behave respectfully toward guides, fellow travelers, and local communities.
The Company reserves the right to remove any participant from a tour without refund if behavior is inappropriate, dangerous, or disruptive.
11. Complaints and Disputes
Complaints should be reported immediately to the tour leader or guide. If unresolved, complaints must be submitted in writing within 7 days after the tour ends.
Disputes will be governed by South African law and jurisdiction.
