Bo-kaap
Bo-kaap is a neigbourhood in Cape Town,since 1834 which marked the end of slavery in the cape colony.It is a day time destination on hillside it's know for its narrow cobbled streets lined with colourful houses.Bo-kaap is on the slopes of signal hills,one of the cape town's oldest and most fascinating residential area .Its streets are characterised by brightly characterised by brightly coloured nineteenth -century Dutch and Georgian terraces,which conceal a network of alleyways that are the arteries of its musilm community.
Cape Agulhas National Park
Cape Agulhas is where the two oceans meet the Atlantic and Indian ocean .It has a gradually curving coastline with rocky and sand beaches.The waters of the Agulhas Bank of the coast are quite shallow and are renowned as one of the best fishing grounds in south Africa .cape Agulhus is a rocky headland in western cape,south Africa .It is the geographic southern tip of Africa .The rock that form cape Agulhas belong to the table mountain group ,often loosely termed the table mountain sandstone .They are closely linked to geological formation that are exposed in the spectacular cliffs of table mountain ,cape point and the cape of good hope.The plain around the southern tip has been declared the Agulhus National park to conserve its estimated 2000 species of indigenous plant and marine and intertidal life as well as cultural heritage ,which include the shipwrecks ,archiological sites ,stones hearths,pottery and shell middens have been discovered .
THE COMPANY GARDEN
The company garden is one of the oldest garden in the south Africa,was first built as a refreshment station for the trade route that rounded the tip of Africa between Europe and East its a heritage site located in central cape town .It was originally created in the 1650 by the region's first European settlers and provided fertile ground to grow fresh produce to replenish ship rounding the cape.It has its origin in Jan van Riebeeck's vegetables garden ,which he grew to feed the original colony as early as 1652,but a little closer to the coast.One can also picnic at the garden.
Clinton and Camps Bay Beaches
Clifton and camps bay are two of cape town's most famous and picturesque beaches ,offering soft white sand ,crystals-clear waters,and stunning views of the surrounding mountains ,these beaches are popular sports for sunbathing,and beach volleyball.The flat,sprawling beach shines bright like the diamond that is on the infamous sunset strip,no matter the weather ,this beach is perfect for a family day.Clifton is an affluent area where some of the most expensive houses and apartments in Cape Town are located. Most of the houses and apartments are built on steep cliffs with outstanding views of the Atlantic Ocean. Clifton beach is broken up into four parts separated by granite rocks. The beaches are below the cliff which provides cover from the winds. Clifton fourth beach is the most popular beach for young adults. The older crowd prefers first beach, which is two beaches away from the bustling scene of Clifton fourth. All the Clifton beaches have pure white sand and the water temperature is very cold (between 10-14 degrees celsius), but it is ideal for the hot summer days in Cape Town. By many accounts, Clifton's beaches are rated among the top beaches in the world.Camps bay is another affluent area down just the road from clifton.Like clifton many of the houses are embedded in the mountain slopes. Camps Bay is known for its beauty; and it is probably the most beautiful beach in all of South Africa. There are Giant Palm trees along the beach of pure white sand. Camps Bay is the place where you will find many foreign beach combers. Camps Bay has various beach events throughout the year which include volleyball and beach soccer tournaments. Besides its natural beauty, Camps Bay is one of the most popular beaches in Cape Town due to the fact that there are many stalls and restaurants along the beachfront. There is nothing like being on the beach and enjoying a delicious Kauai smoothie on a summer’s day in Camps Bay.
Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden
Kirstenbosch is an important botanical garden nestled at the eastern foot of the table mountain in cape town ,the garden is one of the 10 national botanical garden covering five of south Africa six different biomes and administered by south Africa national biodiversity .One of the greatest garden in the world ,the eastern slope of table mountain provide the magnificent backdrop to kirsternbosch national botanical garden and nature -lovers paradise you will discover the 528 hectares of which 36 ha is cultivated and the rest is protected area supporting natural forest and fynobs and indigenous wildlife ,including birds,mammals,reptiles,frogs and insects about 9000 species of cape fynbos where 6200 of those can be seen nowhere else in the world,only the Cape Region and do not need water to grow but surviving from the breeze of the ocean .The garden is also part of the seven wonders of the world.There is also visitors facilities in the garden including restaurants ,kirstenbosch offer three different restaurant each in a different location with distinctive menu ,nursery ,a gift shop, a bookshop a permanent zimbabwean stone sculpture exhibition.
